Mile High Horror Film Festival
As Halloween and horror film season approaches, I’m constantly reminded about the festival that I founded in October of 2010. It started as a small, meager film festival showcasing a handful of the best horror films we could find. Within a few years, it quickly ballooned into one of the largest genre fests in the world. Soon, we were hosting thousands of fans, famous actors, filmmakers, distributors and bringing elite film premiers to Denver, Colorado.
Do I miss it?
The Mile High Horror Film Festival is dearly missed by many people, including myself. I cherish the fans, filmmakers, special guests, our unbelievable staff and most importantly, the films. I will never forget the electric-like buzz and excitement emanating from the countless sold-out crowds.
The MHHFF was a unique, yet special festival that brought people of all walks of life together. It was about much more than simply seeing a movie; our goal was always to create an experience…an incredible celebration of the horror genre itself.
Will the MHHFF be resurrected?
People often ask me when the next festival is going to happen. To this day, we receive frequent inquiries from distributors, filmmakers and hopeful attendees.
Resurrections are always possible. Just look at Michael Myers; he’s died numerous times, only to eventually return, wreaking havoc. I’ve found that there is still a strong appetite for the MHHFF; I am not the only one missing it. With that in mind, perhaps it is time for a resurrection…anything is possible. Stay tuned!
